WHEN RECOVERY FEELS TOO HARD

When you feel like a python who has eaten a cow – and you’re a vegetarian!

When you start eating and fear you’ll never stop.

When you cannot think of anything to eat.

When you wander round the supermarket for 10 minutes and walk out with nothing.

When the server forgets your order and you’re pleased.

When you try and schedule food and going out and it seems simpler to stay in.

When you research a menu on-line a month before a meal out and still find nothing to eat.

When you try on your jeans everyday before breakfast – just in case.

When the only person to congratulate you is your therapist.

When you really, really want to fast.

When life is not yet fantastic, just normal.

And when you have to acknowledge that you have wasted years of your life.
